If you have concerns about your student, it is advised that you contact someone for support. This may be the personal tutor or the practice learning lead. A description of the roles is below.

There is also a simple flow diagram to help you decide who to contact with your issue.

Personal Tutors

All students have a personal tutor throughout their training. Their contact details are displayed in the left hand panel on each student’s ePAD. Contact PErsonal Tutors if your concern is pastoral or personal in nature, such as health or finances.

Academic Assessors

Academic Assessors are the primary link between the placement environment and the University. Their contact details are displayed on the ePAD alongside the Personal Tutor’s. Contact the Academic Assessor if your concerns relate to professionalism, conduct, or competency.

Practice Learning Leads

Each NHS Trust and some private, voluntary and independent sector placements have dedicated staff for practice and learning. Part of their role is to support you as a supervisor or assessor.

Serious professional conduct concerns

If you have concerns about a student’s conduct, please see flow chart in the link below.
