There is an opportunity for staff who have previously failed the mentor module (PRED3000) to apply for RPL (recognition of prior learning) so that they can be considered for the award of PRED3005 non-credit bearing mentor module. Staff do need to be aware that this new award carries no academic credits but is recognised by the NMC as giving mentor/ sign-off mentor status

In order to apply they would need to meet the criteria set out in the attached document:

  1. First enrolled onto the credit bearing module (PRED 3000) from January 2015 onwards
  2. Submitted and failed on 2 occasions the academic component of the module
  3. Successfully completed the practice competencies and portfolio

Each member of staff would need to apply individually by completing the attached form and submitting it electronically via the link at the bottom of the form.
